Mesopotamia and Southeastern Anatolia

A journey through Turkish Mesopotamia is a voyage in the footsteps of the earliest civilizations that shaped the face of the world. In Mardin and Midyat, the golden-stone towns still resonate with the languages and traditions of Assyrians, Kurds, and Arabs, creating an extraordinary mosaic of cultures. Diyarbakır, with its massive basalt walls and vibrant old town, stands as a reminder of the region’s former grandeur. In Şanlıurfa, believed to be the birthplace of Abraham, spirituality intertwines with legend, while in Gaziantep the aromas of spices and the taste of baklava awaken all the senses. The journey culminates in Hattusa — the ancient Hittite capital — where monumental ruins and lion gates lead into the silence of an empire that once ruled over Anatolia.
